Most of American's are familiar with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA). The policy that has allowed about 700,000  individuals who were brought to the United States when they were kids with no say of their own to have the opportunity to work and attend school.  The Obama administration brought this program to life believing that undocumented children should not be immigration main focused. Now that Trump is president he is trying to get rid of the DACA program. Arguing that Obama had exceeded his executive powers when he created the program. Leaving many people feeling scared, and unprotected. Many of the young people that are in the DACA program don't know a lot or anything about the country they were originally from. The United States is the only home they know. Trump administration has rescinded DACA, however, a federal judge ruled that the DACA should stay in place while different courts consider legal challenges to Trump's DACA termination. I personally don't agree with Trump's decision on getting rid of the program. I believe that we should allow other people to grow with our country. Especially the ones that respect, defend and love the United States like many of these young adults do. One other main reason I'm against the termination of the DACA program is that president Trump has always, and still is totally against immigrants. Even immigrants that are trying to better themselves and our country.  An outcome of the Trump administration will leave a lot of bright young people to leave this country by force.

Abortion is a very popular and sensitive topic to discuss. It's usually not something that people like to bring up or put there input.  In the blog, Ohio Bill That Bans All Abortions by my classmate Jeta Brovina its discussed that Ohio has passed a bill that would ban ALL abortions, and to even press criminal charges against the abortion providers and the women that is needing the abortion. I'm not only totally against this bill but disgusted by it. Nobody should have any say on what a woman decides to do with her body. I definitely agree with what Brovina wrote on her blog,  I feel that she really explained why she was against this bill, and also mentioned what we can do to stop it. I do think that she could have talked a little bit more about why woman decide to get in abortion and why it is very important to keep it around. Discussing this issues would have made the blog more personal and more informal.

One main topic that is roaming the internet, and society is gun violence. This past year we have seen many fatal events that have occurred in America that have led to many people losing their lives and leaving others seriously ill. For example, The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting that occurred in Florida led 17 people dead and 19 people injured. Another awful event that occurred, and left American's scared, and confused was the Las Vegas shooting because of this event 57 people lost their lives. Not to mention it was recorded the deadliest mass shooting by an individual in The United States. This could of easily been avoided if we had better gun control laws. Every year we as citizens see more innocent people die due to gun violence. According to Everytown for gun safety article 13000 homicide occur in the United States each year, and 62% of firearms deaths in the United States are suicide. This article easily shows how many people are hurting others and themselves by having easy access to guns. I'm fully aware that nobody can take guns away from people, just like everything else people will find a way to get access to them.  I do believe that America should make it harder for people to get access to a gun. Many things that they should consider is strictly checking their record and forcing everybody to register to receive a gun. By doing this maybe we can control gun violence, and avoid any more deaths caused by guns.

In the article Can You Keep a Secret on International Women's Day? by Pat LaMarche, it goes into a lot of detail of how a woman still has to struggle to get the same pay and respect as a man. It also states that a woman gets judged by the way she is dressed, and the way she carries her body. Not for what she has to offer or how hard she works.

Over the years many women have been involved in protesting and fighting to get treated equally it still doesn't seem fair that a woman has to work twice as hard to be taken seriously. The article also mentions that woman are not getting treated with respect in other parts of the world. It's no secret that woman who live in a different part of the world get treated as property, and not as a person.
We as woman have really changed over the years we have definitely grown and became stronger knocking the man down hard and fast.

One main topic of this article includes our president. The author calls out Trump for talking down about Ms.Clifford. His defenders mentioned that Ms.Clifford can't be taken "serious" due to her lifestyle. Looking back on Trump's behavior, and the way his running our country should he be taken seriously? Many people will say no, and I would agree.

The article does not specify who the main audience is, but I believe that it's towards anybody who doubts a woman. The author's credibility is supported by true events that happen in the past and are currently happening.

I definitely agree with this article and believe that we should find a way to get treated equally.

In the article Actually, there is a clear link between mass shooting and mental illness by Grant Duwe and Michael Rocque, goes into a lot of detail on a topic that has been roaming the internet this entire year. With so much gun violence that has occurred is no shocker that people are demanding answers. Is it mass shootings or mental illness? This article provides a lot of research, and facts about the United States mass shootings that have been taking place in the past century.

Although the article does not state the main audience. I do believe that the intended audience is every American citizen. Many American citizens are confused about why mass shootings keep happening. They're searching for answers while trying to keep themselves more educated with a mass shooting, gun policies, and mental illness.

The author credibility is supported with the research he has provided which states that most of the people who have committed a mass shooting suffer from a mental illness and fail to receive the proper treatment leaking mental illness to mass shooting as early as 1903. As of right now, there’s a lot of debate going on with people blaming mental illness with mass shooting's  and others blaming gun policies. The article touches both topics and shows how both play a huge role in a horrible outcome.

I agree with the article and believe that the author did a very good job talking about such a sensitive topic. He did not approach the topic in a demanding way. He focused on one topic more than another and used data to back up his theory as well as past history.

Trump Signs Budget

On Thursday, February 8th, 2018, The New York Times published an article titled” Trump Signs Budget Deal to Raise Spending and Reopen Government”. The article’s main topic is how Trump signed a major budget deal early Friday morning. The bill, which many people were against had been up for debate for many months now. This article, in my opinion, is definitely worth the read, as a citizen you should be aware of the different bills our president is signing, and how it can affect our country. One of the main things that really stood out to me was that in September 2019 Trump will get the huge increase in military spending, but what other programs would he be cutting? Some programs that the article mentioned were the environmental protection program as well as the health research program, how would cutting this programs affect us? How can increasing military spending help us? Not to mention he is also planning to get rid of DACA which allows MANY, MANY immigrants to receive a good future, and help America in different ways. That’s why I strongly advice for this article to be read so we as a whole know exactly what is going on with the government, and our country's future.
